My name is Jason Slotkin and this is my blog.
I’ve always wanted to tell stories and fight injustice. As a kid, this goal led me to make crudely drawn super-hero comics. Then, as a teenager, better drawn super-hero comics. These days I just want to be a reporter.
I’m an ex-student newspaper editor. I spent the last two and a half years in Olympia,Wa studying journalism and writing at the Evergreen State College. I now live in Portland Or. with five others and I’m the only person in the house who can’t sing or play an instrument.
I hope to further study journalism in graduate school. Until then, I’m looking for ways to write and keep my information gathering skills sharp.
I’m not with a news organization, but hope to become a news or production assistant soon.
I’ve always owned a cat and the Simpson’s have probably been one of the most profound influences in my life. I’m a recovering vegetarian.
